Anne Cavolo Tedesco, a native of Long Island, was born in Valley Stream and earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from the Crane School of Music, SUNY Potsdam. While there, she studied piano with Frank Iogha. After graduating cum laude, Ms. Tedesco received a piano scholarship to the Manhattan School of Music, where she received a Masters of Music degree in Piano Performance. At the Manhattan School of Music, Anne was a student of the renowned Zenon Fishbein.

In 1981, Ms. Tedesco made her professional debut at Carnegie Recital Hall (Weill Hall). The New York Times described her playing as “intelligent articulation in Bach’s Chromatic Fantasy and Fugue, and a languid phrasing in Ravel’s Miroirs.”

Anne Tedesco combines both a teaching and performing career. She is an Adjunct Professor of Music at St. John’s University, where she has been teaching music history, theory, classical piano, and fine arts since 1982. In addition, she maintains a schedule of musical activities which include solo recitals, adjudications and lectures in the New York Metropolitan area, along with private piano teaching at her home studio in Malverne, New York. Her students range from novice to experienced and are welcomed regardless of age. Anne teaches students from Western Nassau County that stretches from the 5 towns area of Hewlett, Lawrence, Cedarhurst, and Inwood through Garden City, Valley Stream, Elmont, Franklin Square, Floral Park, New Hyde Park, and Rockville Centre, all the way to Eastern Suffolk County. In addition, Ms. Tedesco has experience with pre-school children who wish to learn piano in groups. Since 1990, Anne has presented a yearly concert at St. John’s where the proceeds benefit deserving Fine Arts students with scholarships. In 2004, Ms. Tedesco was presented with a St. John’s University Teaching Excellence and Scholarship award for her innovative teaching methods and activities as a concert pianist. While at St. John’s she has also received a departmental recognition award for her teaching and performing and a Founder’s Day award. She also has been cited in the Marquis Who’s Who in the East, Who’s Who of American Women, and American Keyboard Artists.

Mrs. Tedesco is a member of several teachers’ organizations which offer student recitals and piano competitions to her piano students. She is a member of Associated Music Teacher’s League where she has served on the executive board as chair of the Piano Scholarship Auditions. In addition she is a member teacher of New York State Music Teachers Association, District 3, Nassau County, which also offers student recitals and competitions. In addition, Anne has served as an adjudicator for the American College of Musicians, National Guild Auditions, at the Garden City, NY site. She also offers NYSSMA for her students.

Anne has worked with special education students, helping them develop their musical abilities, and instilling a sense of accomplishment and pride. Anne’s students have performed at Steinway Gallery, Queens College, Sachem Library, and Lincoln Center’s Bruno Walter Auditorium, Symphony Space, the Baruch Performing Arts Center, and Weill Hall (Carnegie Recital Hall). In addition, many students have performed as competition winners of the NYC Concert Festival Auditions held at major venues in NYC such as Weill Hall and Lincoln Center among others.

Recently, Anne was the recipient of the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award for excellence in music and career longevity.

**Over the years Anne has performed on the East End and the North Fork of Long Island at the Rogers Library in Southampton, Montauk Library and at Poquatuck Hall in Orient.
